NoDa Historic Arts District Area Of Charlotte

Last week I talked about moving to Charlotte area and places to live. I discussed that there are many options availble to people based on a variety of factors and price ranges. Today, I decided to talk about one of the areas. I happened to be driving through there the other day and almost forgot about the great beauty it has to offer.

NoDa, or otherwiase known as the historic arts district, is a quaint little place located only a few minutes from uptown. Homes located here tend to be of older design and build. Most are bulit during the war times. As this area of Charlotte was a large textile mill area originally. Those homes housed the workers. Those same old textile mills have now been transformed into gorgeous apartments, and art galleries.

This area gives homeowners the quick and easy convience to uptown Charlotte with the rural feeling. Homes here tend to be of older construction and design. Recent renvoations to homes in the area has specialized in restoring the homes to their old world charm while offering the latest in modern construction and efficiency.

NoDa gets it's name from the street it centers on (North Davidson). It is known for it's art galleries, unique cuisine of food and performance venues. If you stop by on the first and thrid friday of the month you can take part in the art crawl from 6:30p.m. to 9:00p.m. and join hundreds of other patrons viewing the creative side of NoDa.

Or you can do as I did the other day and enjoy a nice sunday afternoon strolling through the arts area and then sitting down at one of the outside cafe's and enjoying a drink and some good southern food...

Homes in NoDa range from $79,900 to $399,900. A lot depends on the condition of the home and whether the home has been updated or not... It's convience to uptown with it's historic art flair has made Noda a very popular place and helped it maintain it's home values over the years.

For more information on NoDa and all the happenigns going on there visit there website at www.noda.org .
