Sunday is Father's Day. I like to wish all fellow Father's out there a Happy Father's Day. As I was thinking what to write about today I pondered on my role as a Father, and a son. I thought all day on how my Dad helped shape me to become the person I am today and what I do to as a father to help shape my children.
When I was a kid I never realized how much of an influence my father had on my life and how it would shape the person I am today. I owe a lot to my Dad. He is a religious person and believed that living by certain rules….One golden rule he lives by and instilled in me as kid was to” treat others as you would want to be treated”. So simply put; yet how many of us actually do? Every time I talk to a home seller or a home buyer that vision of my father telling me pops into my head. It has made me successful in my Real Estate career and life.
Other traits I carry with me are honesty and integrity. I once heard a wise man say "you can never forget the truth but a lie is something that can be forgotten". Later in life I understood the meaning behind it. If you lie then you are bound to get caught later on; because one lie turns into another lie and soon you will forget the first lie you said. But if you always tell the truth you never will forget what you said. When you are honest you not only will get respect but you will always have your integrity.
Last thing my Father taught me was hard work. My father believed in an old phrase that my grandfather use to say all the time. “Give a man an honest day work and you will make an honest day pay”. I believe that is still true today and try to live by that rule in my life on a daily basis.
As I reflect on Father’s Day and await the day; I realize I am more like my father than I thought I was….and that is not a bad thing. Our father’s shape who we are; whether we realize it or not. So, on Father's Day I want to thank my Dad for making me the man I am today. And my only wish in life is I am half the man my Dad was and my children come away with the same values I did. THANKS DAD.....

Happy Father's Day---A Charlotte Realtor's Thank You

Should You Use A Limited Service Realtor To Sell Your Charlotte, NC. Home?
In a competitive market the question always comes up that should you use a limited service Realtor or Real estate firm to list your house for sale? Well a discounted firm or Realtor will not provide you with the services you need to sell your home today. Yes, there are success stories out there of them working. But if they all were that successful the full service firms would not be in business.
So what is a limited service really mean in the Real Estate business? Well, we all put the home for sale on the Multiple Listing Service. And some services will provide one or two other free services (maybe to go with it). Generally though they list the house on the service for you and upload any documents you need and that is it.
But, how many people are finding the house through the Charlotte Multiple Listing Service? Who is fielding the calls on this listing when they come in? Are prospective buyers getting questions answered that they need when they call in? Or is the assumption that the house is going to be co broke with another Realtor?
Well the truth is that over 95% of ALL home buyers begin their process online today. Of that staggering number over 68% find the house they are going purchase online without the help of a Realtor. They find them through other portals outside of the Charlotte Multiple Listing Service. So, how many potential clients are you losing by not having your home showcased on other sites?
Who is the designated person to call on the listing? If it is a limited service where you paid a flat fee...where is the motivation for them to return the call in a timely manner and answer any questions the potential buyer of the house may have?
Today, more than any other time I have been in the business I am showing more of my listings to potential buyers than before and have sold a few of them to those buyers. Who is handling it for you on the limited service?
To many times people think it is cheaper to have someone put a house on the Charlotte Multiple Listing Service and sit back and wait for another realtor to sell the house. if it were that easy we all would be doing it that way....There are many reasons why you need a full service broker. but if you are considering a limited service broker what are you really getting?
