Charlotte, NC. Schools..How Do I Know If They Are Good?

Lately I have been asked numerous times through various websites and on the phone about the schools in Charlotte, NC. The question generally goes "I want this in a home and a good school for my kids".

Well as most people do not know as a Realtor we are bound by a code of ethics. One thing that we cannot do is steer soemone toward a particluar school or away from one....So where is the consumer suppossed to do if they cannot confide in their Realtor?

Over the years I have found various sites that provide information on the schools. Each site (listed below) offers a different perspective on schools. One is all about the numbers. How the students rate against other students in the school, district, and state. Others are more parent feedback oriented. Some mix a little of both together.

Is there a right or wrong school? Probably not. A lot depends on what you are looking for in a school (and having four children in the Charlotte Mecklenburg School system from elementary through High School ) and what your child gets out of it.......

I know from personal experience that some of my kids have done better than others....Basically because of the type of student they are.... But here is a list of a few websites that i found to be helpful when I moved to the Charlotte area. I pass these websites along to buyers when schools are important:

http://www.greatschools.org
http://www.ncreportcards.org
http://www.schooldigger.com/

These are all FREE websites that offer unbiased information on schools....if schools are important to you I advise reviewing all three sites. Though most times the information is the same sometimes you will get a different persepctive from one site verus another.
